Minelab Excalibur II is a fully waterproof metal detector built for underwater and shoreline use, using Minelab’s BBS™ multi-frequency technology. Designed for reliability rather than displays, it delivers clear audio feedback in environments where standard detectors cannot operate.
Best for:
Not ideal for:

The Minelab Excalibur II is engineered specifically for detecting in saltwater, surf, and fully submerged environments. Its sealed construction and hard-wired components allow reliable operation at depths where standard detectors cannot function.
In UK coastal conditions, it performs well on wet sand, in the surf line, and underwater, where stability and waterproofing are critical. The audio-based interface keeps operation simple and dependable even when visibility is limited.
BBS™ transmits multiple frequencies simultaneously, helping the detector maintain performance in conductive saltwater and mineralised beach conditions.
The Excalibur II is waterproof to 60 m, allowing use for snorkelling and diving applications without additional housings.
Continuous target tones and adjustable volume provide clear audio feedback without relying on a screen, which is beneficial underwater.
Users can switch between Discriminate and All Metal modes depending on target recovery needs and search conditions.
